Just as each woman is unique in her beauty, spirit, and character, so too is each flower. In acknowledgment of Women’s History Month, Port Charlotte premier flower shop, Port Charlotte Florist, got to wondering what the favorite flower is for some of our ideal women in history.
Anne Hathaway – Anemones
A multitalented actor with several awards, it is not surprising what Anne Hathaway’s favorite flower choice is none other than the anemone. A wildflower with delicate petals, anemones are vibrantly colored flowers loved by many due to the surprising pop of color they bring. The various colors represent different meanings: pink and red mean forsaken love, white implies grace and purity, and purple offers protection.
Lady Bird Johnson – Lavender Bluebell
Lady Bird Johnson’s love of flowers had a significant impact while she served as First Lady. One of the most important projects she took on the Highway Beautification Act, which called for roadside restoration with native plants and flowers. She also founded the National Wildlife Research Center in 1982. Lady Bird Johnson was particularly fond of wildflowers, and her favorite was the Lavender Bluebell, a beautiful, delicate purple flower that symbolizes devotion, undying love, and gratitude.
Lady Gaga – White Roses
The beautiful, delicate white rose is Lady Gaga’s favorite flower. She often uses them as accessories or adornments, too. White roses symbolize a love that is pure, peace, and new beginnings, which is the reason it’s long been a widely used flower at weddings. In Greek mythology, the white rose is linked to Adonis, who’s responsible for rebirth and renewal. White roses are also connected to focus in daily life, as well as getting an arrangement of white roses in a vase inside the home means peaceful energy exists throughout your house. Another famous singer who prefers the white rose is Madonna.
