Flowers That Shine In Pantone’s Color Of The Year

To say we’re excited about color company Pantone’s pick for Color of the Year, Ultra Violet, would be an understatement – we here at Port Charlotte Florist are thrilled, because we know how intriguing purple is when it’s brought into a floral arrangement. We’ve been working with the purple palette for forever, and we love that it’s finally getting its day in the sun. Especially seeing as some designers, florists and other creatives wait all year for the big announcement, which has the ability to set trends in the design world for years to come.

Let us show you an example of what we mean about purple in a floral design that really captures its depth, complexity and mystery: Opulent Garden. The vivid purple hues here are so visually arresting, your eye goes right to them. A swirl of other complementary and gently contrasting colors is also a part of the mix, and yet purple is the one that gets the spotlight.

Florals are such a good way to try out a new and important color that may feel a little unorthodox at first. But after living with it – and seeing it expressed in flowers – you’ll be happy to find other ways to use it. And since you’ll be seeing it everywhere in 2018, you might as well get started.
